Students at the Kumon Marlborough Study Centre had their hard work recognised at a presentation evening.

Ten pupils between the ages of eight and 13 received awards for their achievements in the Kumon maths and English programme.

Kumon is an international study programme and the awards acknowledge that students are now studying at a level above average for their age group.

April Nobes, who runs the study centre in George Lane, said: “The children were delighted and they took their certificates into school the next day.

“Everyone was really appreciative to have the awards ceremony because some of the children have been coming to the centre for years and they work hard every day so this was something out of the ordinary to recognise their achievements.

“I’m very pelased with how well they have done and their parents are very proud.”

Merit awards were also distributed to students who have shown an excellent level of commitment to their Kumon maths and English studies.
