A talented Malmesbury 12-year-old photography enthusiast has been taken on to help promote a town singer’s new EP.

Musician Ami Kaelyn, who has been producing her EP, October, with support from Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions, was keen to work with Megan Bryars, the daughter of local photographer Neil Bryars, after seeing some of her work.

Ms Kaelyn said: “I was really pleased that Megan was doing the pictures, but I didn’t think it would be on a Saturday morning in the woods.

“I have seen a lot of Megan’s work before and she is incredibly talented.

“We got on really well and some of the off-the-cuff pieces were absolutely incredible.

“Megan was quite relaxed and it was just a lot of fun.”

The murky, autumnal morning imagery is meant to depict the changing of time and of the seasons, representing the EP’s title.

“October was quite a poignant month for me, with all the things life can throw at you, really,” said Ms Kaelyn, who grew up in Malmesbury and now lives at Horsefair.

“The EP and pictures are about compartmentalising and moving on.”

The recording will be promoted at a launch event at the Kings Arms, High Street, today at 8.30pm.

A limited number of CDs in a handcrafted cover will be on sale for £5 on the door, which will also include admission to the launch event. Otherwise, entry is £3.
