Police believe that an exotic bird stolen from the Avebury area could have been target by thieves to use in illegal cock fighting matches.

The Taiwan cock was stolen from its coup on Tuesday January 21. Other birds on the farm were left behind.

The cock is between two-and-a-half and three-foot tall and is worth between £500 and £600.
