Pewsey Carnival has had a new year clear out with the help of Marlborough company the Hills Group, which provided them with a skip free of charge.

The skip was used to clear unsellable items from the Carnival and Community Store on Salisbury Road Industrial Estate.

Carnival chairman Bernie Bradshaw said: “Pewsey Carnival is always grateful for the generosity of the public in donating quality furniture and other goods but inevitably we do receive some items which are damaged.

“We called Hills to ask if they could help us offload unsellable items.”

Does this all go to landfill? I just wondered if any was offered to Refurbiz in Devizes, any charity shops, or advertised on Freegle and Freecycle groups? Also there's the Helping Hand Facebook group which is about distributing things to people who can't afford but need them, from bedding to kitchen.
