The Health and Safety Executive attended Siemens Rail Automation in Chippenham yesterday after an accident in which a man was seriously injured.

The man is reported to have fallen from a flatbed lorry and hit his head on the concrete ground about five feet below.

The 62-year-old, who works for a concrete company believed to have been delivering lintels to Siemens, was taken to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol by road ambulance.

The accident happened at 9.45am at the former Westinghouse and Invensys Rail on Langley Park industrial estate.
