Couples visiting Calne Town Council’s annual wedding fair on February 23 can enter a draw for the chance to win the town hall as a free wedding venue.
The wedding fair will run from 11am to 3pm offering light refreshments, wedding packs, and stands advertising photography, catering and venue dressing services.
Couples attending the event will have free entry into the prize draw to hold their wedding at the town hall, a Grade II listed building with a history going back 120 years.
Community services manager Judy Edwards said “I don’t think many people know that we have a civil licence to conduct ceremonies here.
“We have such a beautiful venue right in the middle of this lovely town and yet so many local couples choose to get married elsewhere.
“We thought we’d try to raise the profile of the town hall a little by offering it as a prize. The councillors were excited by the idea and gave it their most romantic blessing.”
Commercial stands are also available for the event. For more information call Tracey Howell at Calne Town Council on (01249) 814000.
