Teen Kieran Mulvaney has won an award from the British Youth Council for taking an active role in the community.
The year 11 pupil at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, collected his award from the Houses of Parliament, where he was congratulated by MP Duncan Hames. He was joined by fellow award winner Joy Wingrave from Corsham.
He is deputy member of the Youth Parliament for Wiltshire and has taken surveys of safety, transport and bullying.
He said: “It is really interesting to hear young people’s opinions on matters that gravely concern them and to hear some of the views they hold on complex matters.”
