Two men who were arrested in a dramatic police operation in Malmesbury have admitted taking part in a burglary.

Stephen Rosindale and Michael Nelson both pleaded guilty carrying out the raid on a home at Yatton Keynell on Monday, December 9.

The pair, both from Birmingham, admitted stealing laptops and jewellery from the property in Beaufort House.

Rosindale, 29, and Nelson, 25, were arrested after police descended on Malmesbury during the Monday lunchtime.

Response officers, dog handlers and the air support unit were called in following an alert from a police community support officer after a call from council ground staff.

Rosindale, of Dagnall Road, and Nelson, of Tavistock Road, both Birmingham, pleaded guilty to burglary when they appeared at Swindon Crown Court by video link on Friday.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Thursday, January 9, when the pair will be sentenced and remanded them in custody until then.

A third man, Luke Hales, 20, of Oddingley Road, Birmingham, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

His case was adjourned to Friday, March 14, for a further directions hearing before a trial and he was also remanded in custody.
