Temporary traffic lights are in place on the A350 Westbury, near Park Lane, due to flooding on one side of the road.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the route if possible.

The B3105 from Staverton to Bradford on Avon is closed due to major flooding issues and a woman attempting to drive to Bradford on Avon had to be rescued from her Ford Focus at 7.30am.

Police are advising motorists to avoid Sandridge Road, Melksham, and Westlands Lane, Beanacre, with both roads flooded, while the road at the bottom of Brass Knocker Hill in Limpley Stoke at the turning for Winsley is also flooded.

Police have also closed Shurnhold Road, near Sampford Car Home, where three cars were left stranded by the flooding. Police are advising motorists to avoid the route until further notice.

Flooding along the A3102 in Goatacre, Calne, resulted in a car breaking down, with another car going into the back of it at 4.20am. There was also a fence panel blown into the road in North Street, Calne, at 8.39am, which has since been removed.

A fallen tree was partially moved by police in Westbury Road, Yarnbrook, between the Longs Arms pub and Platinum Vauxhall, while there was also a large branch obstructing the A360 in Bishopstrow, Warminster, at 7am.

There was another fallen tree in Newleaze, Trowbridge at 12.10am, which covered the whole road. A local farmer used a JCB to move the tree off the road. A report was also received by police at 5.30am, after phone lines came down in Innox Road, Trowbridge.

In Vicarage Street, Warminster, police were called after a green house was blown into the road at just after midnight, while there was a telephone cable brought down in Cock Hill, Trowbridge, which has now been dealt with.

Other issues have also been reported in Chippenham, with a tree cleared from Langley Road, Chippenham, at 12.50am, a metal fence cleared from the A430 at North Wraxhall at 1.40am and a tree blocking a road in Castle Combe.

There is also flooding in Sandy Lane, Lacock, Sutton Benger at the Willowbrook End and the B4069 at Kingston Langley, where the River Avon has burst its banks, leaving the road impassable.

Police are also advising motorists to avoid Patterdown, Chippenham, where severe flooding near the railway bridge has left the road almost impassable. Station Road in Christian Malford is also flooded.
