Bad weather is causing disruptions to travel in and around Marlborough.

At 1.20pm the police were called to the A345 in Clench Common where a Volkswagen Caddy had tipped onto its roof. The driver is believed to have had a stroke and was airlifted to hospital. The road was cleared by 3.10pm.

The A4192 at Whittenditch, Ramsbury, is completely closed due to a fallen tree and power cables. Police are on the scene and are awaiting the arrival of Southern Electric.

On the A338 at Stype a fallen tree is caught in an electricity line but traffic can still pass through.

At approximately 12.30pm police were called to after a small tree fell on top of a car. An elderly woman was treated for minor injuries.

There are trees down on the A345 in Oare, A338 at Newtown, Shalbourne, A338 East Grafton, Burbage, on an unclassified road from Lockeridge to West Overton and the road from Aldbourne to Ogbourne but all roads are passable.

Sergeant Barry Reed from Marlborough Police said: “Although there is supposed to be a lull in the storm from now until about 11pm please take care when planning journeys.”
