IMPROVEMENTS are to be made to the main road through Worton to deter speeding motorists.
Following consultation with residents and organisations including Five Lanes Primary School, the council has devised a road safety strategy and will pay £5,000 to make the improvements.
These include a green surfacing treatment on the pavement area used as an informal school coach stop near the junction of Sandleaze and the High Street, and to provide a red coloured Tarmac patch embedded with the word SLOW on the eastern and western approaches to the bends.
Work is also set to take place to create an informal crossing point across High Street near the junction of Cedar Close to help school children cross the roads.
