History teacher Peter Baldrey has been chosen as the Labour Party's prospective parliamentary candidate for North Wiltshire.

Mr Baldrey said: “I feel honoured to have received the backing of the members in North Wiltshire to take the Labour message of hope and the promise of a better Britain to the voters here in 2015.

"North Wiltshire is being hit, and hit hard by the results of the coalition generated cost of living crisis.

"In addition, people are worried about changes to the NHS and access to good education for their children.

"I will be working hard to communicate Labour's policies which offer people a real alternative to the discredited policies of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats."

The seat is presently held by Conservative James Gray, who has been chosen by his local party to contest the seat at the next general election.
