A boy has been taken to hospital this evening after being hit by a car in Derry Hill.
The boy, believed to be a 12-year-old, was in collision with a silver Jaguar X-Type at 4.17pm after stepping off a bus and crossing the road at the bottom of Derry Hill opposite the Fiat Garage.
He was taken to hospital by land ambulance and delays at the scene are expected over the next couple of hours as road traffic officers investigate. The road is partially blocked and police are directing traffic.
