Strike action to close main Trowbridge post office this weekend
Strike action by Post Office staff will close Trowbridge’s main office this weekend, at the height of the Christmas rush.
The Communication Workers’ Union has held a series of nationwide walkouts this week, which saw the office on Roundstone Street closed on Tuesday.
Staff will walk out again from 3pm tomorrow (Friday), Saturday and again on Wednesday as part of the dispute over pay and nationwide closures.
Post offices will be open in Co-ops at College Road and Dursley Road, at Hilperton Marsh and in Holt.
- The public consultation over the proposed move for Melksham’s main post office continues, with a drop-in customer forum on Thursday, January 9 at the King’s Arms pub, from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
