A RACING day dedicated to Minis raised a massive sum for Emerton’s Foundation at Castle Combe Circuit.

The charity was presented with £1,028 this week, raised at the Mini World Action Day held at the end of September.

Racers charge £20 to take fans on a speedy lap around the circuit, with the Minis driven by some of the country’s top racers.

Emerton’s Foundation was set up Emerton Chisholm-Joyce’s parents when he died of leukaemia, to provide lifestyle support to other families with a child with leukaemia or autism.

Emerton’s eight-year-old brother Lucas Chisholm-Joyce, who goes to King’s Lodge School in Chippenham, switched on the green lights and lifted the flag to start the racing Daleks at the circuit.

Mum Lisa Chisholm said: “They gave Lucas special treatment and he got to have his photo taken with the Doctor Who characters.

“Thank you very much for the continual support that we’ve been having from people in Chippenham. This money will help another group of families.”
