Churches in The Oldbury Benefice will welcome a new assistant priest, the Rev Linda Dytham, next year.

Miss Dytham is a self-supporting minister attached to the Savernake team, with particular links to Burbage, and works part-time at the Haine & Smith headquarters in Pewsey.

She will be welcomed to the parish after Christmas and will continue with her paid job while working in the benefice on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Oldbury Benefice is made up of All Saints in Yatesbury, St Andrew's in Heddington, St Hames in Cherhill, St Swithins in Compton Bassett and St Mary’s in Calstone.

The Rev Philip Bromiley, rector of The Oldbury Benefice, said: “This is a brilliant new post so we’re very excited.”
