Support Adoption For Pets is celebrating after Pets at Home in Chippenham helped them raise £2,604.

Throughout October, the Pets at Home store took part in Support Adoption For Pets’ autumn fundraising appeal, a nationwide charity drive to raise money for local animal rescues.

Stores rose to the challenge raising £460,000 nationally, all of which will now go to animal rescue centres and welfare organisations across the UK.

Charity manager Amy Wilson said: “We set ourselves a target of £400,000 having raised £300,000 earlier this year through our spring fundraising appeal, so we’re delighted to have exceeded our target.

“It’s down to the hard work and enthusiasm of store colleagues and I’d like to thank the team at Pets at Home Chippenham for their efforts.”

The store held a number of activities in store over the course of the appeal including selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a selection of fantastic prizes, such as a Toyota Yaris, £1,000 worth of holiday vouchers, an Apple MacBook Air Laptop, a 40” HD TV and free pet food for a year.

Customers could also choose to take part in the Round up to a £1 initiative, whereby they opted to round up the cost of their purchases to the nearest pound, with the difference being donated to the appeal.

The £2,604 raised by Pets at Home Chippenham will be donated to local animal rescues that are working hard to rescue and re-home abandoned animals.

Mark Brimson , store manager at Pets at Home Chippenham, said: “We were fully behind Support Adoption For Pets in their bid to raise £400k and are very proud to have raised £2,604 as an individual store.

"Our customers are animal lovers just like us, sharing our passion for pets, and they have been exceedingly generous to the appeal so I’d like to publicly thank them for their support and donations.”
