Devizes Floral Art Club held its annual open meeting in Devizes School Hall last month, when national flower demonstrator Elizabeth Graham from Newport, South Wales, gave a a splendid display of Christmas arrangements.

Some of these featured unusual hollies from her plant collection.

Elizabeth’s humorous chatter as she worked made for a happy and relaxed evening.

There were also stalls selling gifts, cards, decorations and indulgent chocolates and cakes and a raffle for the flower displays.

A donation from money raised will go to the Devizes Open Door Project.

Also last month the club held two workshops enabling participants to create Christmas wreaths for the door or table.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, December 18, at 7.30pm upstairs in Devizes Town Hall when Lucy Ellis, a new young demonstrator from Bratton, willl give her flower demonstration entitled The Holly and the Ivy.

It is also “Bring a Guest” free night with seasonal refreshments so friends are welcome to enjoy a Christmassy evening with the chance of winning a floral arrangement.
