Youngsters learned music and put on a performance in a workshop held at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School during half term.

Devizes mum Lucy Wain, who runs Music with Mummy sessions, organised the three-day workshop for children aged six to 11.

Twenty children attended and all learned to play the recorder while others learned to play guitars, flute and saxophone. They also produced artwork based on the theme of the workshop, Music from the Movies.

The youngsters learned four songs including I’ll Do Anything from Oliver, Somewhere Out There from An American Tale and the Ghostbusters theme.

On the final afternoon they held a performance for friends and family.

Mrs Wain, who has held numerous workshops, said: “Some of the children knew how to play recorder but some didn’t so we split them into groups. They pick up learning the songs and the music so fast. They always up their game when it comes to the performance for their family and friends.”
