Parents in Chippenham whose children may have left home are being urged to consider fostering.
The call has been made by Mark Goulding who has joined Community Foster Care as supervising social worker and is launching a recruitment drive for new carers in Swindon, Chippenham and North Wiltshire.
“The number of children in care keeps rising whilst the number of people coming forward to offer them a home keeps going down. We need to reverse that trend if cared-for children are to get a fairer chance in life,” he said.
Foster carers come from all walks of life and can be single, married or divorced, male or female. They must be aged 25-70.
CFC is a not-for-profit agency providing foster carers for cared-for children in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. It works closely with Wiltshire Council.
“Community Foster Care’s unique selling point is that we are a charity. Our standards of training and levels of support are also exceptional,” said Mr Goulding.
