£28,000 outdoor play area boosts Lea and Garsdon primary pupils

A new £28,000 outdoor play area has given a big boost to youngsters at a primary school near Malmesbury.
Lea and Garsdon Primary School in Lea invested the money to provide an all-weather outdoor play facility to let learning go on outside.
The facility has a sandpit, a Perspex board for children to write on, an abacus and a playhouse.
Staff member and parent Liz Goodey said: “What we had before was very small so this is double, if not triple, the size, which means more children can be out there.
“It was covered before and the sides were exposed, but we don’t have to worry about that now. My son William, five, loves it and he loves the sandpit.”
Wood has been used to blend the play area in with the school building .
