Thousands of children and parents across Wiltshire could face disruption due to a teachers’ strike next Thursday.

The one-day strike has been called by the NUT and NASUWT over a number of disputes, including wages, pensions and working hours.

John Bentley School, Calne, has announced it will be closed to all pupils next Thursday, while Pewsey Vale School will only be open to Year 11 pupils.

St John’s Marlborough is expected to post its decision on its website tomorrow.

Malmesbury School, Royal Wootton Bassett School and Corsham School have yet to make a decision.

Richard Gamble, Wiltshire Council portfolio holder for schools, said: “We have been offering advice and guidance to schools to help their leadership teams decide if their school is able to remain open.”

Parents are advised to contact their schools for individual updates but there will be updates on Wiltshire Council’s website at www.wiltshire.gov.uk
