Cherhill's life-saving equipment is explained
4:00pm Friday 11th October 2013 in News
Residents in Cherhill will get a closer look at the village’s new defibrillator during a show and tell evening run by the charity Community HeartBeat Trust on October 23.
Villagers raised nearly £1,800 for the defibrillator through a pig in a poke auction in April and it has been installed by the trust on the front of the village hall.
During the show and tell, volunteers from the charity will demonstrate how to use the machine, how it is linked to the 999 service and will answer questions.
The cost of the defibrillator was originally underwritten by the Cherhill Village Theatre group, which donated enough money to pay for one until the funding could be raised.
Theatre secretary Judi Willett said: “After some installation costs we had a surplus of around £200 from the fundraising, which Cherhill Village Theatre are going to make up to £1,000 and make a donation to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.”
The show and tell will start at 7.45pm inside the village hall.
