Chippenham man denies breaching sexual offences prevention order
3:41pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
A 44-year-old man accused of failing to comply with the terms of a sexual offences prevention order is set to face trial by judge and jury.
Darren Vine pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempt and one actual breach of the restriction imposed on Friday, May 11 last year.
Vine, who used to live in both Hill Rise and Wood Lane, Chippenham, denied the three allegations when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Thursday.
It is alleged that he tried to contact a child, and had unsupervised communication with another, in contravention of the order.
Judge Euan Ambrose adjourned the case to a trial date to be fixed and released Vine, who currently lives in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, on conditional bail until then.
He told him he must not have contact with a named child and must live at his home address.
