Dozens of organisations, companies and individuals took part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday.
Seend Community Centre offered coffee, cake and games and organiser Tessa Doe said about £450 had been raised, which was slightly down on last year but the event was enjoyed by all.
Roundway Parish councillor John Stevens and his wife, Mary, held an afternoon tea party and produce stall at their home in Drews Park in Devizes and raised almost £100.
On Wednesday, September 25 a coffee morning was held in Hillworth Park, Devizes, for Macmillan Cancer Support and raised £208.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is staged annually by MacMillan and this year it hoped to raise more than £100,000 in Wiltshire.
The first national morning took place in 1991 and, since then, it has raised more than £75million.
Last year alone, a record £15 million was collected in the UK.
