MP presents new iPads to Chirton School
3:00pm Sunday 29th September 2013 in News
Devizes MP Claire Perry handed out 12 iPads to excited children in Key Stage 2 at Chirton School today, who were quick to get to grips with the new technology.
The children spent the morning using a teaching app to create a fairy tale. Strakers in Devizes, IT Support Company Oakford, and Plank’s Farm Shop chipped in, the rest of the money coming from the school budget.
They will be used by the children indoors, as well as outdoors during nature lessons.
Amy Bekker-Wrench, associate head at the school, said: “There were lots of excited faces, they were enthralled.
“It’s a great teaching tool. Every child has an iPhone or iPad now. They are with it more than we are, so they’re teaching us in some ways.”
