Cherhill WI to host evening of pampering
11:00am Sunday 29th September 2013 in News
Cherhill WI has organised a variety of stalls and therapies for a womens’ pamper evening on Thursday, October 10, with the aim of encouraging new members.
The Women’s Institute, which has more than 210,000 members nationally, will celebrate its centenary in 2015 and aims to use this time to boost its membership up to 250,000.
Members of the Cherhill WI hope to attract new members or visitors to the pamper evening as part of this national campaign.
It will offer therapies including reflexology, hand and baby massage, as well as the opportunity to browse stalls selling make-up, jewellery, natural soaps and bath products, home accessories and ceramics.
Committee member Gaile Bishop said: “We have quite a nice strong WI at Cherhill, they’re the heart of the village really, they support so much that goes on.
“What we’re trying to do is refresh our group, attract new members, or at least show people that we’re there for the odd occasion if they want to dip in and see what we offer.
“We want to put on an event that women from outside Cherhill can enjoy. The pamper evening will provide a relaxing few hours, whilst promoting local businesses.”
The event will be held at Cherhill Village Hall from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £5 including a first drink and canapés.
