Donations to honour Corsham friend
1:20pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
THE friends and family of former Corsham firefighter Martin O’Shea are holding a celebration on Saturday, September 21.
Mr O’Shea died in June, eight months after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease.
More than £20,000 was raised in his memory, with former teammates from Corsham Centre FC playing a charity match against the Swindon Town Youth Team, and colleagues at Corsham Fire Station walking 22 miles along the Kennet and Avon canal path in full kit.
The money will be split between charities including the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Dorothy House Hospice, with presentations to be made at a free disco at 8pm in the Corsham Community Centre.
