Launch day for Sherston market coming soon
6:00pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
SHERSTON market is expected to be bustling with local produce and craft goods when it launches in November.
The event will run monthly on a Saturday morning and stalls are still available for interested traders.
Village hall committee chairman Martin Rea said: “We haven’t done this before so it’s a bit of an experiment.
“The hall is rarely used on a Saturday morning; it’s a bit of a desert. It is just sitting there and it’s in the High Street in a central position, so why not see if people would be interested in a new market?
“I have had about 10 traders come forward, which is a good start, but we could probably take about 15 or 16.
“More traders are welcome and, of course, the more the merrier.”
Traders signed up so far will sell everything from home produce and plants to fabric, meat, wine and gift items. The first market will run on Saturday, November 16, from 9am to 1pm, with the next on Saturday, December 14.
It will be primarily, but not exclusively, for local producers of food and craft items from Sherston and the surrounding villages.
Tables/stalls are available for £10. Stallholders can attend on a seasonal basis depending on their product range, rather than every month.
It is also possible to share stalls.
Anyone who wishes to book a stall can call Mr Rea on (01666) 840348.
