VISITORS to Lit Fest can experience two hours of performances at the annual Poetry Café in the Town Hall on Sunday.

From 11am poetry lovers can enjoy a Two Rivers Press reading , which will be split into two halves.

The first half will be chaired by English poet, performer and children’s author AF Harrold, who has appeared at poetry and literary festivals from Brisbane to Vancouver and was the Glastonbury Festival Website’s poet-in-residence in 2008.

Peter Robinson, poetry editor for Two Rivers Press, will chair the second session.

He has been awarded the Cheltenham Prize, the John Florio Prize and two Poetry Book Society prizes and is head of English Literature at Reading University.

Other poets reciting their work include Adrian Blamires, Allison McVety, Jean Watkins and Claire Dyer.

And for the first time LitFest is running an Open Mic session immediately after The Poetry Café on Sunday at The Green Dragon pub.

The event will be hosted by Alex Hickman who recently published 38, a collection of poetry and prose and is currently working on a novel.

Anyoner who would like to take part can submit a poem in advance to Alex at general@marlboroughlitfest.org, or they can simply turn up on the day with their poem.
