Land and rural surveyor firm Woolley & Wallis has announced Rob Bishop will head up its new company Woolley & Wallis Finance, which launched this week.
It is at the Woolley & Wallis Farm and Rural Agency office in Marlborough, with Mr Bishop leaving Clydesdale Bank after eight years for the job.
He will work with lenders, high street banks and some of the less well-known sources of finance to present farmers who want to buy land or expand an enterprise with a range of options.
It will also cover factors such as succession planning, so the loan can pass from one generation to the next, and financing expansion, such as a new enterprise.
Mr Bishop said: “The aims of the bank and the borrower are not as aligned as they once were. Banks vary in how they enforce covenants, revalue security and re-price loans, finance is more than just the lowest rate of interest.
“We can provide a full professional service that includes meetings with solicitors and accountants and presentations of business plans this will save the borrower much time and avoid the expensive pitfalls.”
