Devizes art gallery opens again
4:00pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in News
The re-opening of the Wine Street Gallery in Devizes will take place this weekend.
It closed four years ago but founder Juliet Reid and her deputy Dawn Galbraith are re-opening it at Hopton Industrial Estate with an exhibition of fine art, ceramics and sculpture.
The move comes after successful exhibitions at Old Mill Gallery in Worton that featured work by artists at the Wine Street Gallery.
Ms Galbraith said: “There is much excitement about the gallery re-opening. People have missed it.”
The opening is on Saturday from noon to 6pm. Wedhampton storyteller Roger Day will give a speech at 12.30pm to thank everyone who has made it possible.
The exhibitors include Mike Rennie, Anna Simmons and Clive Jebbett.
The gallery at Unit 10, White Horse Business Centre, Hopton Road, is open on Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 5pm and other days by appointment. Entry is free.
The opening exhibitions run until october 13 and another two exhibitions are planned this year.
