Album hope for Box teenage singing star

Budding teenage singing star Zara Dryden could soon be heading to London to work on her first professional album, if she wins enough votes in an online competition.
The 15-year-old from Box is through to the final of the Bright Sparks Project, a national singing contest held by the Scouting movement.
She has submitted a track that is available online, and will go to London to record in a professional studio if it attracts the most views.
She has already performed to more than 200 people at the village’s Box’s Got Talent competition, and sang solo at Corsham swimming star Steph Millward’s wedding.
Her mother Reba said: “She has been working as a young leader for the Cubs in Box, and it was the Akela there who mentioned it as he had heard her singing at a few things in the village.
“She had to put it on Youtube and promote it amongst friends and family.
“She has only been singing for four years, but has really got into it, so to make an album would be amazing.”
The video of Zara singing the track Angel is available on Youtube by searching for Zara Dryden Bright Sparks Project.
She said: “I enjoy singing, but I still get nervous.
“I sing in the choir at King Edward’s in Bath, where I go to school, but at home I do more modern stuff.
“Recording the album would give me more confidence; I’ve never done anything like that before.”
