You could bring early festive cheer
10:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
Christmas has come early for Barnardo’s as it is asking people to clear out their unwanted winter woolies and forgotten gifts.
The children’s charity is hoping that millions of pounds will be raised via the ‘Christmas in summer’ stock appeal.
Items can include jumpers, hats, gloves, scarves, coats, boots and bags.
In Wiltshire, supporters can take their donations to the charity’s stores at Pewsham in Chippenham, Wine Street in Devizes, Bence Court in Amesbury and Catherine Street in Salisbury.
Gerard Cousins, Barnardo’s director of retail, said: “Our shops are desperately in need of quality autumn and winter donations.
“We want to have a bumper festive season that will help us to transform the lives of society’s most disadvantaged children and young people.”
Shops are also keen to receive offers of support from potential volunteers willing to share a few hours a week. See www.barnardos.org.uk
