A-levels: Malmesbury School
Students at Malmesbury School have produced another excellent set of A-level results and have achieved their highest ever points score per student at 865 points.
Eleven per cent of the year group managed to get a full set of A and A* grades including Emily Beckwith who achieved three A grades and Charlie Donaldson who got three A*.
Headteacher Tim Gilson said the school was very pleased with this year’s results with 84 per cent of the grades at A*-C and 99 per cent of the grades were A*-E. He said: “It’s been a very busy morning.
“There’s always different ways to slice things up and analyse them, this year our total points score our best score ever.
“Our A*-C grades are a bit down from last year but we were expecting that.
“We’ve got most of our students into good universities and there are three or four students that have gone home to think about their options.
“We’ve certainly noticed that there are more university places out there this year and some of our students have got into their first choice despite dropping a grade or in some cases two.”
