2:00pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
Bromham Twenties Club last week handed over a cheque for £1,320 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance after its latest fundraising effort.
The club is a group of 20 men from the Devizes area who meet on the first Tuesday of each month and once a year organise a golf day in aid of local good causes. This year their chosen charity was the air ambulance appeal and they mounted the fundraiser at North Wilts Golf Club on June 6.
Club chairman Richard Townsend said: “There were 24 teams of four taking part, and the tournament was followed by a superb meal and prizegiving, with me handing out the prizes.”
A total of £1,470 was raised, £1,320 of which went to the air ambulance.
The committee of Mr Townsend, treasurer Ken Glass and members Jim Paget, Roger Davis, Jim Giles and John Wilshire presented the money to paramedic Steve Riddle at the air support unit at police headquarters in Devizes last week.
