Roads close for work on walkways in Sherston
12:29pm Wednesday 14th August 2013 in News
Sherston residents have been warned to prepare for disruption from road closures as improvements begin on walkways in the village.
Wiltshire Council has worked closely with Sherston Parish Council, Malmesbury Area Board and residents over the past year to develop the proposal, which includes the construction of a new footway link on Court Street and crossing point to the post office in the High Street.
There will also be a new two-metre-wide footway on the south eastern side of the High Street between the access to the village hall and Noble Street.
The work began on Monday and it is estimated it will take five-and-a-half weeks to complete.
There will be temporary road closures on the High Street. These will be: between the access to the village hall and the Rattlebone pub from August 13-26; on September 4-5, closure of High Street and Court Street junction; and on September 18-19 for carriageway surfacing works.
