Chippenham Internet show expands line-up
1:00pm Thursday 15th August 2013 in News
Former Chippenham Sports Club clubhouse manager Andy Thatcher has launched two new shows on his internet radio station Chippenham FM.
Mr Thatcher, 54, retired from the clubhouse in January and has been focusing on his internet radio station since.
Chippenham FM runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Mr Thatcher presents shows on weekday mornings and afternoons. His morning show is called Toast and Porridge and runs from 8-9.30am. At noon he presents Lunchtime Deal, a show with song dedications and requests, until 2pm.
A new show, Land and Brand presented by Mary Land and Nomad Brand, was launched four weeks ago. It runs on Thursdays from 7-10pm.
Mr Thatcher said: “Land and Brand ran a station in Lyme Regis but moved to Chippenham and got in touch with me.
“The show’s music is a country, folk, rocky combination.”
Peter Abraham, owner of Chippenham Black Cabs taxi firm, is presenting a new programme – The Friday Night Talk Show.
Mr Abraham encourages discussion on up to four stories from the week’s news with music.
Mr Thatcher said: “It’s all going well. Going forward we’ll be building on getting more shows and then get sponsorship and advertising.
“I just really want to get some backing and start going into town and get more people involved.”
Mr Thatcher is always on the lookout for volunteers, and is appealing for any reporters, comedians and people who could provide an hour’s track list to come forward.
