Brothers in school walk
12:00pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
Two teenage brothers from Royal Wootton Bassett who walked the Ridgeway have raised about £500 to help build a school in Burma.
Fifteen-year-old Jed Stacey, his 12-year-old-brother Sam and dad Mike completed the 87-mile route from Wendover to Bassett in six days.
Mr Stacey said: “We were really pleased. We wanted to get home on the last day and we got to Ogbourne St George and home was just around the corner, and I sat down and said I didn’t know that I could do it. But the boys just took all the stuff out of my bag and were really encouraging. It was really nice to be looked after by them.
“They really rose to the challenge and they were determined to do it.”
