Funds will be raised for an Armed Forces charity next week at the Royal Wootton Bassett Challenge.
Mayor Linda Frost will be joining a team of serving and ex-serving soldiers who will start the 10-day multi-discipline endurance event.
It will kick off at 10am on Thursday, August 8, at the War Memorial on the High Street as part of efforts to raise £10,000 for the Army Benevolent Fund.
The challenge will include a 30-mile marathon from Bassett to Lechlade, a 144-mile kayak on the Thames, an 80-mile cycle from Westminster to Dover and a 200-mile sea kayak from Dover to Marchwood before a 36-mile cycle to Tidworth and a 30-mile marathon to Bassett on August 16.
