ALDBOURNE Library is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a nostalgia event today.
The library, which is the smallest in Wiltshire, has been in the pink cottage next to the Forge on South Street since February11 1963 after moving from the Old School Room.
To celebrate, members and non-members are invited to reminisce and enjoy light refreshments from between 2pm and 8pm.
Book lovers will be able to share their stories and memorabilia and there will be a demonstration on how books were logged in and out for lending before the arrival of computers.
The event is a double celebration that also marks library assistant Trish Rushen’s 25 years working there.
