Police appeal over stolen guns in Devizes
3:33pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in News By Lewis Cowen
.
Devizes police have appealed for information leading to the recovery of three paintball guns two of which look identical to M16 rifles.
The guns, designed to fire paint-filled capsules for use in the popular outdoor sport, were taken from a house in Bath Road, Devizes, some time over the weekend after a window was smashed to gain entry.
Also taken was a Miltech Desert Storm pistol and other paintball equipment. The total value of the items taken is thought to be around £2,000.
Inspector Matt Armstrong of Devizes police said: “These guns look very close to the real thing. They cannot be converted to take live ammunition but we are concerned that these items might be offered for sale.
“If anyone does come across these guns, we would be very grateful to hear about it.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Devizes police through the 101 non-emergency number of Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
