Man suffers serious injuries in Devizes fall
11:15am Monday 4th March 2013 in News
Police were called to Devizes town centre this morning after a man fell from a balcony and suffered serious injuries.
The man was apparently working outside the flats which overlook the car park off New Park Street when the accident happened.
The balcony is about 15 ft high.
The 57-year-old man, who lives in Devizes, was taken by road ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, accompanied by a doctor and an air ambulance paramedic. The air ambulance was unable to take off because of the morning mist.
Police cordoned off the site and alerted the Health and Safety Executive and council officials.
