More than 40 people did the Harlem Shake when the YouTube craze hit Calne last weekend.

It took place in the skate park, known as the Bowl, near Station Road on Sunday, and since then the video has been seen almost 4,000 times.

The event was organised by 22-year-old singer-songwriters Benji Clements and Aaron Heap.

The video, which lasts only 26 seconds, was started by local musician Guy Shergold, 28, who stands in the middle of the Bowl.

Mr Clements said they decided to organise the shake to bring people together. He said: “There’s not a lot for people in Calne to do.

“We thought it would be nice to bring people together because we both feel Calne is lacking community spirit.

“We’re looking at holding some more music events but also at how we can bring old and young people together – maybe through some fundraising.”
