Train services to London from Bristol and Chippenham and back again are being diverted or cancelled because of a major signalling failure around Swindon.
This problem is affecting all routes through Swindon. Services between South Wales and London Paddington in both directions will be either diverted via an alternative route, such as Westbury, with increased journey times, or cancelled.
Services between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington in both directions will also be either diverted via an alternative route with increased journey times, or cancelled.
Services between Cheltenham Spa and Swindon will also be cancelled.
Replacement bus services will be in operation.
A spokesman for train operator First Great Western said the problem was caused by a power failure which has affected signals.
