Public will have say on plans for Hullavington solar farm

A developer is to make a planning application for a solar farm at Hullavington.

Wessex Solar Energy wants to install rows of solar photo-voltaic (PV) panels on 17 hectares of arable fields surrounded by hedgerows, about a third of a mile northwest of Hullavington.

The development would be below three metres high and would generate up to seven megawatts of electricity.

Planning officer Chris Marsh said an environmental impact assessment would not be required but a habitat survey should be conducted.

Public consultation will begin when a full application is made.
