Dancing dog Harley, who was a hit in the Potterne panto, has set his sights on bigger fame – in the Crufts Factor competition.

The 21-month-old English springer spaniel, who belongs to Ellen Bothwick of Potterne, is a popular visitor to daycare centres and residential homes and his role in the panto won many hearts.

Now Mrs Bothwick hopes to widen his appeal through Crufts Factor, part of the top dog show which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on March 10.

She said: “Harley has entered Crufts Factor and needs your votes. Please vote for him and help him to win.”

Mrs Bothwick has owned Harley since last year, when she decided to overcome her phobia of dogs.

The puppy soon solved her canine fears and showed an aptitude for learning dance moves.

She put together an act with him and was soon winning hearts at venues in Wiltshire and beyond.

The duo won the PetFactor competition, organised by Jack FM.
