Sparkling night to aid foundation
6:00pm Sunday 3rd March 2013 in News
Finlay Connor
The fund set up in the name of six-year-old Finlay Connor who died after a tragic accident outside Woodborough Primary School two years ago is to benefit from an event in Devizes.
Natasha Strickland is organising an event at the Castle Hotel in New Park Street on Saturday, March 9, between 7pm and 10pm called Snowdrops and Sparkles shopping soiree.
Mrs Strickland said: “There will be live music, an array of beautiful stalls to shop from and a beautician offering her services.”
Tickets, £5, including a glass of bubbly and a goody bag, are available from the Castle Hotel, Devizes Books and Cielo Blu.
The Finlay Foundation has raised more than £9,000 for children’s charities in the area since it was set up by Finlay’s parents, Greg and Niki. As reported in last week’s Gazette, Mrs Connor, who suffered terrible injuries in the incident, is undertaking an abseil 190ft down the Avon Gorge in Bristol on April 13 to raise funds for the Finlay Foundation.
She has asked us to make clear that she will be one of 40 people raising a target of £4,500 to be shared among the Finlay Foundation, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the Great Western Air Ambulance and Swift Medics.
