Police are appealing for information after a young man was assaulted outside the Corn Exchange in Devizes.
Officers have been following a number of lines of enquiry since the incident happened on December 23 last year but need help from the public.
The incident occurred at about 1.30am and led to a 22-year-old man from the Devizes area being treated at Great Western Hospital in Swindon for a fractured eye socket, cheekbone and collarbone. Another man sustained minor facial injuries.
Detective Constable Tom Allen of Melksham CID said: “The incident took place over the busy Christmas period and many people would have been in the smoking area outside the Corn Exchange when the assault occurred.
“I would appeal to the public to come forward with any information about this incident. It is often the case that the smallest piece of information can lead to a prosecution. While this type of crime is uncommon in the Devizes area, the impact on the victims can be significant.”
