SCHOOL children in Devizes have no need to be bored during the half-term break next week as Wiltshire Heritage Museum is hosting a range of events for youngsters.

From rock detectives to crop circles, there is something for everyone at the museum from February 9 to 17 and entry will be free for the period.

David Dawson, the museum director, said: “On Tuesday and Wednesday our popular craft-based activities will be taking place – with a dinosaur theme on the Tuesday and cards, whether for a special Valentine or just for fun, on the Wednesday.

“On Thursday the museum will be hosting Judi Buchanan who will be running a Their Past – My Present junior genealogy workshop for 7 to 11-year- olds. This sounds like a fascinating activity for all budding historians. More information is on our website.”

Next Sunday the museum will be holding a Going in Circles family workshop. This event, running from 11am to 3pm, is free for all the family and is linked to their current exhibition Measuring the Land. The event will include face painting, mini-crop circle activity and an opportunity to have fun with geometry.

The week will provide the last opportunity for visitors to see the Fantastic Fossils family exhibition which ends on February 24.
